Reversed-Phase and Weak Cation-Exchange on a Single Column
The Acclaim? Mixed-Mode WCX-1 is a novel, high-efficiency, silica-based column,
manufactured by bonding a specially designed proprietary ligand with
both hydrophobic and weak cation-exchange properties. Selectivity of
ionizable and neutral compounds can be controlled independently or
simultaneously by tuning mobile phase ionic strength, pH or organic
modifier. This column therefore can separate using multiple separation
modes: reversed phase, cation exchange, and normal phase/HILIC.

adjustable selectivity of the Mixed-Mode WCX-1 makes it an ideal column
for secondary methods development since the selectivity is orthogonal
to C18 columns and weak anion-exchange (WAX) columns.
The Acclaim
Mixed-Mode WCX-1 columns novel column chemistry offers multiple
retention mechanisms, including RPLC, cation-exchange, ion-exclusion and
