High Resolution, High-Capacity Cation-Exchange Column for the Separation of Small Polar Amines
Attain
the optimal combination of chromatographic speed and resolution using
the new Thermo Scientific? Dionex? IonPac? CS19-4μm cation-exchange
column. This high capacity, high resolution capillary column provides
excellent resolution of common cations, small polar amines and
polyvalent amines in complex sample matrices. Compared to the previous
Dionex IonPac CS19 column, the new ion-exchange column uses smaller
resin particles for more efficient separations resulting in faster
analysis, more accurate peak integration, and more reliable results.
The
Dionex IonPac CS19-4μm carboxylate-functionalized cation-exchange
column has similar selectivity to the Dionex IonPac CS19 column for the
six common cations, small polar amines (including alkanolamines and
methylamines) and moderately hydrophobic and polyvalent amines
(including biogenic amines and alkyl diamines). Applications run on the
Dionex IonPac CS19 column can be easily transferred to the Dionex IonPac
CS19-4μm column with the benefit of increased peak resolution which
provides more consistent results. The Dionex IonPac CS19-4μm column is
available in three formats, standard bore (4 × 250 mm), microbore (2 ×
250 mm), and capillary (0.4 × 250 mm). The capillary and microbore
formats require less eluent thereby reducing operating costs.
-
Increase speed, chromatographic resolution and quality of analytical results
-
For analysis of amines including alkanolamines and methylamines in diverse sample matrices
-
For analysis of moderately-hydrophobic amines including biogenic amines, alkyl diamines, and polyvalent amines
-
Optimized for fast simple acidic gradient separations with minimal baseline shift
-
High capacity allows routine analysis of high-ionic-strength samples
The
Dionex IonPac CS19-4μm column is targeted for analysis of power plant
waters treated with ammonium, morpholine, or ethanolamine; as well as
chemical additives; chemical process solutions; scrubber solutions;
personal care products; and food samples.
The smaller resin
particles used in the Dionex IonPac CS19-4μm column produce increased
backpressure. When operating the Dionex IonPac CS19-4μm microbore or
capillary column at standard flow rate, an IC system capable of
operating up to 3000 psi is sufficient. However, to take advantage of
the fast runs, using elevated flow rates, a high pressure IC system,
such as the Thermo Scientific Dionex ICS-5000+ HPIC or Dionex ICS-4000 HPIC is required. The Dionex ICS-5000+ HPIC system is required for standard operation of the Dionex IonPac CS19-4μm standard bore column.
